The family of a woman in her 40s, who died at Soroka Medical Center together with her fetus, is claiming medical negligence. The woman, in her seventh pregnancy, arrived at the emergency room in the 34th week due to abdominal pain. The family representative, Abd al-Khaliq Abu Aadra, describes a chain of failures: the woman waited for hours in the regular emergency room despite being pregnant, received only painkillers, and her blood tests failed. After her water broke, a doctor mistakenly identified it as urine. Only after internal bleeding from the liver was diagnosed was she rushed into an emergency cesarean section, during which the fetus was extracted without signs of life. During the surgery, her liver was torn, her condition deteriorated, and she was transferred to intensive care where her death was declared the next day. Soroka Medical Center has not yet responded to the claims.
