Police claimed that Tzarfati and Huta 'had a hand in the murder' and described them as the 'brain.' The Public Defender's Office, representing a minor suspect, said he expressed deep remorse and claimed he had no direct connection to causing the death. Tzarfati's lawyer presented text message screenshots that he claims prove Razi threatened her with rape and the murder of her mother. Razi's mother, Dakla, said that seeing the suspects was one of the hardest things she has experienced, and that the police did everything they could, but the actions led to her son's murder. Attorney Yossi Lazer, representing another suspect, said that Matanya protected Razi with his body and was injured, and performed CPR on him.
