False Allegation: The House Burned Down - and the Palestinian Woman Accused the Settlers of Arson

Fire investigators from the Fire and Rescue Services and the Criminal Identification Division found no evidence of arson. The mother (53) and her son (14) were transferred for questioning at the Hebron police station, during which significant contradictions emerged. The son recanted his version on the same day and admitted he did not see any Israelis near the house. The mother continued to adhere to her version, and her detention was extended until Thursday. In further questioning, she claimed she dreamed the incident: she heard settlers knocking on the window and throwing a bottle, got up and ran after them, then woke up and saw flames. According to her, she fabricated the allegations against Israelis because her family members had been violently attacked by them in the past. She is suspected of providing false information and incitement. The police noted that additional evidence reinforces that this is a false allegation.
