Fair of Hope: Works of IDF Disabled Veterans for Rosh Hashanah

The IDF Disabled Veterans Rehabilitation Center in Jaffa will hold its traditional pre-holiday fair on September 7. The fair will feature handmade items created by individuals with traumatic brain injuries as part of rehabilitation workshops. For participants, this is a step toward regaining independence.

On September 7, the IDF Disabled Veterans Rehabilitation Center in Jaffa (13 Yehuda Margoza Street) will hold its traditional Rosh Hashanah fair. The fair will feature woodwork, ceramics, textiles, and plants created in rehabilitation workshops by individuals with traumatic brain injuries. The center was founded in 1973 by the Rehabilitation Department of the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Neuropsychology at Bar-Ilan University. It employs psychologists, occupational therapists, art therapists, and other specialists. In addition to therapy, participants work in a carpentry workshop, greenhouse, ceramics, and design. The fair runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Organizers promise attractive prices. For participants, selling their items is an important confirmation that their work is needed by others.
