Exposure: The party that will file a complaint against Channel 12's pollsters

Prof. Yaron Zelicha, chairman of the Economic Party, reveals in an interview with Channel 14 that his party, currently operating in a joint list with Yoaz Hendel under the name "The Reservists and the Economic Party," intends to file a formal complaint next week with the chairman of the Central Elections Committee. The complaint will be directed against several polling institutes, including the "Midgam" institute headed by Mano Geva, which conducts the seat polls for Channel 12 news. The central claim in the complaint is that in some election polls, respondents who wished to do so were not given the option to choose the Economic Party. Zelicha claims he has a recording documenting a case where a respondent requested to choose his party but the option was not provided. This move is part of Zelicha's long-standing struggle against how media outlets and polling institutes measure his party. Already in the 2022 elections, Zelicha attacked Channel 12, claiming they replaced his party's name with another. However, in that election campaign, the Midgam institute did include the party in its polls, and it was measured at 1.3% in a Galei Tzahal poll and 1% in a Channel 12 poll. After the merger with Hendel, the list is explicitly measured in polls, but the results vary: in a Kan News poll, it passed the electoral threshold with four seats, while in a Channel 14 poll, it still does not pass.
