Explosive drone launched at IDF force in Lebanon; army chose not to update the public

Hezbollah launched an explosive drone at IDF forces in the Ali Tahar ridge area north of Beaufort. There were no casualties and no damage was caused. The IDF Spokesperson chose not to update the public, citing that publishing information could harm the forces. Yesterday it was reported that the building in the village of Majdal Zoun, where two reserve soldiers fell, was booby-trapped before the ceasefire. The day before, intense strikes in southern Lebanon were canceled due to American pressure.

In the past day, Hezbollah launched an explosive drone at IDF forces in the Ali Tahar ridge area north of Beaufort. There were no casualties and no damage was caused in the incident. Despite the fact that this constitutes a violation of the ceasefire, the IDF Spokesperson chose not to update the public about the incident. The IDF refused to comment on the event and gave a laconic response: "The IDF publishes information to the public based on substantive considerations and situational assessment. The IDF Spokesperson will not publish information that, according to the situational assessment, could harm our forces operating in the combat zones." Yesterday, Kan News reported that the IDF assesses that the building in the village of Majdal Zoun, where Maj. (res.) Harel Birnstock and Master Sgt. (res.) Tamir Vaknin fell, was booby-trapped before the ceasefire, and therefore it is not a Hezbollah violation. The military continues to investigate the incident in which the two soldiers fell and the reason for their entry into the building before it was scanned. The day before, the IDF planned to carry out intense strikes in southern Lebanon, but these were canceled due to pressure exerted by the United States. According to a security source, the Americans conveyed a message to Israel that there was no violation of the ceasefire by Hezbollah, and demanded to avoid further strikes in order to preserve the agreed-upon situation and the talks taking place in parallel between Israel and Lebanon in Rome.
