Exclusive Footage: Head of Crime Organization from Southern Israel at the Moment of Arrest

The head of a well-known crime organization from the south was arrested early this morning at a hotel, as part of Operation "Relay Race" against extortion and protection money collection from delivery drivers in the south. Dozens of additional suspects were arrested in a widespread raid in Ashdod, Kiryat Gat, and other locations. Police Commissioner Danny Levy boasted: "We will dismantle the protection racket infrastructure across the entire country."

The head of a well-known crime organization in the south was arrested early this morning (Tuesday) at a hotel, as part of the police's Operation "Relay Race" against extortion and protection money collection from delivery drivers in the south. The arrest occurred as part of a widespread raid in which dozens of additional suspects were arrested, including key targets of the southern district, on suspicion of protection racketeering, extortion by threats, and other criminal offenses. The raid, led by Lahish detectives, National Guard fighters of the Border Police, and officers of the SDR Brigade, was carried out on the suspects' homes in Ashdod, Kiryat Gat, and other locations. The suspects were transferred for questioning at the central unit of the Lahish area, and later today they will be brought to court for a hearing to extend their detention. Police Commissioner Danny Levy boasted: "We will dismantle the protection racket infrastructure across the entire country."
