According to the organization, the military is not providing adequate medical care to some of the animals, has reduced spaying and neutering operations, and in the absence of a contract with a quarantine facility, dogs are being captured and euthanized on site. The letter was prompted by an incident last week at Camp Noam in the Jordan Valley. According to the organization, a trapper and a military veterinarian arrived at the scene after a report of a female dog and her two puppies. The organization claims the female dog was shot with a tranquilizer dart and then euthanized. One puppy was transferred to the organization in critical condition, and the other puppy remained in the area after not being located. In response, the IDF Spokesperson stated that military veterinarians found a stray female dog and one puppy, and due to the dog's severe medical condition and to prevent animal suffering, it was decided to euthanize her. The puppy was transferred to the veterinary care of the Ashkelon municipality. The organization demands that the military urgently contract with a quarantine facility and ensure treatment for the animals until a solution is found.
