Escalation of conflict with Turkey: It issued a "Red Notice" against Netanyahu for "genocide"
Turkey escalated its conflict with Israel: The Turkish Ministry of Justice requested the issuance of an international arrest warrant, a "Red Notice," against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in connection with the Gaza flotilla incident, on charges of "genocide." The escalation came a day after Netanyahu made harsh statements against Turkey. Meanwhile, Turkey declared its intention to continue supporting the Syrian regime, a move that concerns Israel.
Turkey escalated the diplomatic conflict with Israel: The Turkish Ministry of Justice, headed by Minister Akin Gurel, announced that it had requested the Ministry of the Interior to issue an international arrest warrant, a "Red Notice" from Interpol, against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The warrant is sought as part of the ongoing trial in Turkey regarding the attack on activists of the "Global Solidarity Flotilla" in international waters, on charges of "genocide." The escalation came a day after Netanyahu made harsh statements against the Turks. According to the Turkish announcement, on July 14, arrest warrants were issued against 35 defendants, including Netanyahu, on suspicion of crimes including crimes against humanity, genocide, aggravated false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of injury. The documents were transferred to the Turkish Foreign Ministry. Concurrently, last night Netanyahu held a discussion with heads of the security establishment, including intelligence branches, regarding developments in the region, particularly concerning Syria and tensions with Turkey. This comes against the backdrop of a statement by the Turkish Defense Ministry denying that a Turkish delegation was at the base attacked in Syria, but declaring an intention to continue supporting the al-Sharaa regime in Syria—aid that concerns Israel.
