Russia and Ukraine exchanged intense aerial strikes on Monday, in the latest escalation of long-range attacks between the two sides. Moscow and Kyiv announced the downing and destruction of large numbers of drones, as a Russian strike on a warehouse in the Chernihiv region of northeastern Ukraine left dead and wounded. Three people were killed and seven others wounded in the attack on warehouses belonging to an agricultural company in the city of Pryluky. For its part, Ukraine announced the downing or disabling of 85 Russian drones out of 108. In response, Russia announced the downing of 1,025 Ukrainian drones, in addition to bombs and missiles. The escalation comes at a time when diplomatic efforts to end the war remain stalled. The Kremlin welcomed calls to stop targeting Russian civilian infrastructure, calling for increased pressure on Kyiv.
