Eliyahu Yossian: This is the only way to overthrow the Iranian regime
Eliyahu Yossian, a recipient of the Israel Security Award, argued at Channel 14's security conference that the American interest in the confrontation with Iran is economic, and that Washington is exploiting Iranian aggression to close arms deals with Gulf states. According to him, the only way to overthrow the regime is external pressure on three axes: American ground forces, seizure of oil and gas fields, and arming local minorities.
Eliyahu Yossian, a recipient of the Israel Security Award, analyzed the tensions between Iran and the US at Channel 14's security conference and argued that the American interest is primarily economic. According to him, Washington is not being pushed to the edge but is exploiting Iranian aggression to close arms deals with Gulf states and profit from rising oil prices. Yossian refuted the notion that internal citizen activity would suffice to overthrow the regime, comparing it to Nazi Germany, Libya, and Iraq. He presented three necessary axes: American ground forces in Iran, physical seizure of oil and gas fields (80% of the regime's cash flow), and arming local minorities. According to him, without oil money, the regime will not be able to pay salaries to the Revolutionary Guards, Basij, and militias, and the mechanism will crumble from within.
