The Palestinian Embassy in the Arab Republic of Egypt announced on Friday the adoption of a new electronic mechanism for booking appointments for biometric passport transactions, aiming to facilitate procedures, reduce crowding, and speed up processing. Transactions include first-time issuance, renewal, replacement for lost, or replacement for damaged passports. Applicants must register electronically in advance via a dedicated link, with mandatory completion of data and attachment of documents. The fee for issuance or renewal is 1950 Egyptian pounds, payable via bank cards (Visa) or cash inside the embassy; payment via apps or e-wallets is not accepted. The embassy stresses that applications for accompanying persons (wife, son, daughter) must be registered separately under one account to ensure consecutive appointments. A guardian may apply on behalf of children under 16, bringing required documents. For those born after 2007, a birth certificate, parents' marriage contract, and their IDs are required. The embassy will follow up on activating ID numbers with the Civil Affairs Department in Ramallah, with passport issuance starting about two weeks after procedures are completed. The embassy also clarified procedures for government employees, profession registration, cases of father's death, and replacement for damaged or lost passports.
