The IDF fears a wave of copycat attacks across Judea and Samaria, following two attacks that occurred today (Sunday) in the West Bank and Jordan Valley. The IDF says the attacks are a result of growing tension in recent days, against the backdrop of elections in the Palestinian Authority and elections in Israel. The defense establishment identifies increasing incitement attempts on social media, with some of the incitement and direction coming from the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad from Turkey, Libya, and Qatar, with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards serving as an overarching factor. In the second attack today, a terrorist lunged at a soldier from the "Duchifat" unit at the Rimonim junction in the Binyamin Brigade and tried to grab his weapon; the soldier shot the terrorist and neutralized him. As of today, the IDF has 26 battalions in the West Bank, some of them regular.
