Elections Committee Director: 'They Will Make the Public Think Something Is Wrong to Create Anarchy'

Acting Director General of the Central Elections Committee, Attorney Dean Livne, spoke to Galei Tzahal and warned against attempts to undermine public trust in election results. According to him, the danger is not the falsification of votes themselves, but creating a false public perception that the elections are not proper, with the aim of creating anarchy and division.

Acting Director General of the Central Elections Committee, Attorney Dean Livne, was interviewed on Ilana Dayan's program on Galei Tzahal and addressed claims made against the committee by coalition elements. Livne emphasized that the main concern is not harm to the integrity of the elections themselves, but attempts to make the public believe the elections were rigged. According to him, foreign elements are working to delegitimize state institutions, aiming to create anarchy, division, and to dismantle democracy. Livne confirmed Dayan's statement that 'it is impossible to falsify election results in Israel, but it is possible to make us think they were falsified.'
