El Al cancels direct flights to Vietnam due to lack of permits, despite 20,000 tickets sold. Arkia continues to fly to Hanoi using chartered aircraft. Passengers are offered alternatives: a flight via Bangkok, a change of destination, a refund, or a voucher.
El Al has canceled the launch of direct flights to Vietnam due to the lack of necessary permits from Israeli security authorities, which act on the instructions of the General Security Service. More than 20,000 tickets had already been sold for these flights. In response, Arkia, which already operates direct flights to Hanoi, stated that it will continue to operate them as usual, using chartered aircraft from Hi Fly and GullivAir, with Israeli cabin crew. Arkia emphasized that the flights are operated in accordance with all security procedures. Passengers of the canceled El Al flights are offered options: a flight via Bangkok, a change of destination, a full refund, or a credit voucher.
