Eisenkot sets record, overtakes Netanyahu in new poll
A fresh poll by 'Zman Israel' shows a record result for Gadi Eisenkot's 'Yashar!' party — 25 seats, putting it in first place for the first time, ahead of Netanyahu's Likud with 21. The rise came at the expense of Bennett's 'Together' bloc, which fell to 13. The opposition bloc controls 70 of 120 seats, but a coalition is unlikely.
A fresh weekly poll, commissioned by 'Zman Israel' and conducted by consultant Yossi Tatika and the Adgenda panel led by Roi Shindler, recorded a historic result for the 'Yashar!' party, headed by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot. The party gets 25 seats — its highest figure since its inception, putting it in first place for the first time, ahead of Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud, which retains 21 seats. The rise of 'Yashar!' came mainly at the expense of Naftali Bennett's 'Together' bloc, which lost ground and now gets 13 seats. In the lower part of the ranking: Yisrael Beiteinu — 11, 'Democrats' — 9, 'Torah Judaism' and Shas — 8 each, 'Jewish Power' — 7, Hadash-Ta'al-Balad, 'Religious Zionism' and Ra'am — 6 each. 'Zionist Home', 'Kahol-Lavan' and 'Ahdut' do not pass the threshold. The bloc ratio: coalition — 50, opposition — 58, Arab lists — 12. Netanyahu's opponents control 70 of 120 seats, but uniting them into a coalition will be extremely difficult. Earlier, 'Kursor' reported on the intensification of confrontation amid a possible transition to the next stage of the agreement with Hamas.
