Former minister Matan Kahana, a member of Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party, attended a house meeting in Jerusalem last night (Sunday) and spoke with an audience mostly from the Religious Zionist sector. Kahana tried to address the scare tactics by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his partners against Eisenkot due to the bloc partnership with Yair Golan and the Democrats party, saying he is calm that in the next government there will be center-right figures who will know how to restrain the voices from Golan's side. He expressed firm opposition to dismissing current government appointees, including Shin Bet chief David Zini, saying that any appointment that received a 'stamp' of approval from the High Court is valid. Kahana condemned nationalist crime in Judea and Samaria, but also criticized the use of the term 'settler violence', claiming it is a smear on 500,000 Israelis. He attacked Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and said his party represents a certain segment of the Haredi public and formed an alliance with people who say 'we will die and not enlist'. Kahana praised Eisenkot, saying he is the answer to the epidemic of division, and that he is the second most loved person by Likudniks.
