Eisenkot: "Netanyahu is no longer fit to be Prime Minister of Israel"

Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot harshly attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening, following a report about a warning call from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed before October 7. Eisenkot said Netanyahu is unfit for office, calling it "extraordinary negligence" and a breach of public trust.

Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot harshly attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening, following a report published this morning about a warning call that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed held with Netanyahu before October 7, 2023. According to the report, bin Zayed warned Netanyahu about an impending attack to be launched by Yahya Sinwar from the Gaza Strip, and Netanyahu ignored it. Eisenkot said: "Netanyahu is unfit to be Prime Minister." In his full remarks, Eisenkot called the conduct "a grave breach of public trust, extraordinary negligence in the functioning of the Prime Minister, and contempt for critical information given to him personally." He added that nearly three years after the disaster, the fact that there are major question marks about the events leading to the failure is unacceptable. Eisenkot claimed that Netanyahu is in a fight for his life — thwarting a state commission of inquiry, hiding the truth, fleeing responsibility, rewriting history, and shifting blame. He promised that a state commission of inquiry would be established. Eisenkot revealed that he submitted a severe warning document to Netanyahu just six weeks before the disaster, and Netanyahu chose to ignore it. According to him, "This is his modus operandi — closing his eyes and fleeing responsibility at the moment of truth."
