Einav Zangauker: Yair Golan did not keep his word

Einav Zangauker, mother of released hostage Matan Zangauker, said that Yair Golan, leader of the Democrats party, did not keep his promise to give her a guaranteed spot on the party's electoral list. According to her, at a meeting she was offered a place right after the current Knesset members, but later Golan backed out of the agreement. Zangauker noted that because of this she did not participate in the primaries.

According to her, at a meeting Golan offered her a guaranteed spot on the electoral list — right after the current Knesset members — and asked her to keep it secret. Zangauker claims that she was repeatedly assured that the agreement still stood. That is why she did not participate in the party primaries. "I fulfilled my part of the agreement, Golan decided otherwise, and that's the whole story," she added. The statement came after Golan announced that Zangauker would not receive a guaranteed spot on the list. The conflict is unfolding against the backdrop of the election campaign, where the Democrats party is trying to strengthen its position.
