Brig. Gen. (res.) Efi Eitam, former commander of the Galilee Division and minister in Israeli governments, was interviewed on Radio 103fm and declared that the most suitable candidate for prime minister is Benjamin Netanyahu. Eitam justified his support for Netanyahu by saying: "You choose the most experienced winner" and "In war, you need the most experienced." He added that despite failures, choosing Netanyahu is the most rational choice in his opinion, comparing it to World War II: "Imagine that in the midst of World War II, Churchill had fallen in elections." Regarding tensions with Turkey, Eitam said: "Not an immediate enemy" and suggested "cooling the flames and the enthusiasm." He also addressed Syria, noting that it has an interest in not being drawn into war, and called for moderating the panic regarding the collapse of the Israeli security system. Eitam listed achievements from the current war, including control of Gaza and Lebanon, and emphasized Israel's need to be unpredictable. He noted that the Iranian project is central and not yet concluded.
