Earthquake on the Right: Erdan and Edelstein Expected to Announce New Party

Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein are expected to announce tomorrow the formation of a new party, with Erdan at the helm and Edelstein in second place. The two will reveal additional members, while talks for alliances with Benny Gantz and Ayelet Shaked are stalled.

Gilad Erdan, Israel's ambassador to the UN and former Minister of Public Security, and Member of Knesset Yuli Edelstein are expected to announce tomorrow (Thursday) the formation of a new party and a joint run. Erdan will be placed first and Edelstein second. The two are expected to reveal additional members, but talks for an alliance with Benny Gantz and Ayelet Shaked are currently stalled. Edelstein announced about a month ago that he would not run in the Likud primaries and is embarking on a new political path, while emphasizing his principles: true right-wing, statesmanlike and responsible, in favor of settlement, security of an iron wall, free economy, legal reform, and strengthening Jewish identity.
