Drugs worth about NIS 2 million seized in Lod; two suspects arrested

A special task force of the Central District uncovered drugs with an estimated value of about NIS 2 million that were hidden in several compounds in Lod. Two young residents of the city, in their 20s, were arrested. During the searches, heroin, crystal, ecstasy, and cannabis were seized, weighing a total of about 2.5 kg, along with hundreds of test tubes, scales, and additional equipment. The findings were transferred to forensic laboratories.

A special task force of the Central District police uncovered in recent days drugs with an estimated value of about NIS 2 million, which were hidden in several compounds in Lod. Two young residents of the city, in their 20s, were arrested and taken for questioning. The operation took place in the Railway neighborhood in Lod and its surroundings, as part of a targeted operation by Lod station officers, Shfela YASAM fighters, Central District Border Police, and the Central District canine unit. During the searches, heroin, crystal, ecstasy, and cannabis were allegedly seized, weighing a total of about 2.5 kg. Alongside the drugs, hundreds of test tubes, scales, and additional equipment that were allegedly used for drug distribution were also seized. All findings were transferred for further examination and evidence extraction at police forensic laboratories. Police noted that the activity is part of the fight against violent crime and drug trafficking in Lod and its surroundings, and within the framework of increased activity against criminal elements in the area.
