Drugs found in Gaza aid as IDF destroys Hamas weapons depots in mosque, arrests West Bank terrorist

COGAT reported that drugs were smuggled into Gaza inside humanitarian aid packages, citing a World Central Kitchen report. The IDF and Shin Bet destroyed two Hamas weapons depots in mosques in northern Gaza. The Duvdevan unit arrested a terrorist in Jenin who was planning an attack inside Israel.

COGAT announced on Monday that drugs were smuggled into the Gaza Strip inside food products intended as humanitarian aid, based on a report by the World Central Kitchen. Six bundles of hashish weighing approximately 600 grams and 160 grams of other illegal substances were found concealed in canned pepper packages. COGAT strongly condemned the smuggling and stated that Hamas exploits humanitarian aid for its own needs. A senior COGAT official asserted that Hamas remains the main obstacle to improving conditions in Gaza, interfering with humanitarian activity and exploiting civilian infrastructure. Separately, the IDF and Shin Bet destroyed two Hamas weapons depots in mosques in the Shati and Deir al-Balah areas, containing dozens of Kalashnikov rifles and other equipment. The Duvdevan unit arrested Hamam Khazem in Jenin, who was planning an attack inside Israel. His father Fathi was killed last week after attempting to stab a soldier, and his brother Raad carried out the 2022 Dizengoff Center shooting.
