Four Israeli citizens, including the owner of a large confectionery chain, a spokesperson for a well-known banking institution, and a major construction contractor, were arrested in Greece on suspicion of drug offenses. The arrest took place in the early morning hours of Monday (July 27) by port authority officers in Lefkada, acting on intelligence information. On a private catamaran sailing under the British flag, narcotics were found carefully stored, including 55.6 grams of cannabis, ten grams of crystal methamphetamine, 13 ecstasy tablets, 8.1 grams of cocaine, as well as €7,000, ₪3,240, and $563 in cash, eight mobile phones, and two tablet computers. The Turkish captain called the maritime police following a dispute. After an investigation lasting nearly ten hours, all eight detainees were released under restrictive conditions, including regular reporting to the embassy and posting bail of €5,000 each.
