Dror Balazadeh: 'Even if the Iranian regime falls, the threat will remain'

During Israel's security conference on Channel 14, the channel's Iran correspondent Dror Balazadeh addressed Tehran's true goal. According to him, Iran is working to gather and strengthen various militias in the region, aiming to bring about the destruction of the State of Israel. Balazadeh noted that Iranian support for militias in Iraq has greatly increased in recent days, and the assessment in Israel is that the drones launched toward Israel yesterday and this morning came from Iraq. He detailed the list of militias: Hezbollah, Houthis, militias in Iraq, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and others. According to him, the militias are driven by deep religious ideology, not financial considerations. Balazadeh addressed reports of pro-Iranian militias in Iraq agreeing to disarm, but clarified that these are new and less entrenched militias, while the senior and deep-rooted militias still exist and follow the Iranians. He warned that even if a regime change occurs in Tehran, the Shiite axis will always remain a threat to Israel.
