Hundreds of police officers and volunteers will deploy tomorrow (Thursday) morning on Israel's roads in a large-scale national enforcement operation led by the Traffic Division in cooperation with the National Road Safety Authority. The activity will include about 500 marked and unmarked patrol cars and motorcycles, focusing on speeding, distracted driving, lane deviation, running red lights, and offenses by motorcycle, scooter, and electric bicycle riders. Detectives from the Central Unit will operate against criminal drivers who pose a real danger. The police stated that the reinforcement is necessary due to the summer vacation, characterized by increased traffic and use of two-wheeled vehicles. Head of the Traffic Division, Commissioner Haim Shmueli, said that governance on the roads requires consistent enforcement presence and full enforcement of the law. The operation will continue throughout the day and into the night on routes and risk hotspots.
