Israel's Ministry of Transport has warned drivers of extensive nighttime road closures starting this week as part of the 'Fast Lanes' project. The restrictions will affect the coastal Highway 2 and the Ayalon Highway (Highway 20). The first closure is scheduled for the night of August 3-4: from midnight to 05:00, the northern direction of Highway 20 between the Roka and KKL-JNF interchanges will be closed. Traffic will be diverted via the exit at the Roka interchange, while the entrance from KKL-JNF will remain open. On the night of August 4-5, the southern direction of Highway 2 between the Poleg and Wingate interchanges will be restricted from 00:00 to 05:00, with a detour via Highways 553 and 4. On the night of August 5-6, a section of Highway 2 between Netanya and Gesher HaShalom will be closed, with the entrance from Netanya in the southern direction closed, and a detour via Herzl Street and Ben-Zvi Boulevard. Public transport routes will also change, and passengers are advised to check information via the 'Kol Kav' service or navigation apps. The ministry urged drivers to plan their nighttime trips in advance. The project aims to increase road capacity.
