Driver, 20, killed in collision with bus

A 20-year-old driver was killed on Friday in a road accident with an empty bus on Route 80 near the Allenby Terminal junction. MDA teams at the scene pronounced him dead after he was trapped in the vehicle, unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, and suffering from multi-system injuries. The bus driver, 66, was evacuated to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in mild condition. MDA paramedic Menachem Rusk described the accident as shocking and recounted the resuscitation attempts made at the scene. Police announced they have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, and officers from the Bekaa station, the traffic unit, and traffic accident investigators of the Judea and Samaria District are at the scene. Following the accident, Route 90 between Beit Hogla and Qasr al-Yahud is closed to traffic in both directions.
