Drama in the primaries: The recount threatening Gila Gamliel's realistic slot

The Likud election committee convened today (Tuesday) to discuss allegations of irregularities in the primaries, with the focus on a single polling station in Be'er Ya'akov that shows results radically anomalous compared to other ballot boxes. According to official data, at this polling station MK Sasson Gueta, who was not elected to a realistic spot on the list, received 487 votes—the highest number among Knesset members. May Golan, who also was not elected to a realistic spot, received 450 votes, and Gila Gamliel received 433 votes. For comparison, Minister Dudi Amsalem, who is popular in most polling stations, received only 21 votes there. Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz received 17 votes. The recount cut Gamliel's votes by more than half. Etti Atiya, who is supported by Minister Haim Katz, did not give up on the reserved slot for a woman in the 25th spot and may enter the list at Gamliel's expense. In footage that reached Ynet, Gamliel's husband is seen demanding entry to the counting location, being refused, and shouting: "They're stealing elections here!"
