A family feud in Jisr az-Zarqa led to a brutal attack on a 23-year-old woman from the town. The woman, engaged to a relative of the attackers, was invited to a house to talk, but there they set up a 'red riding hood' for her. In footage filmed by the attackers, they are seen punching and kicking the woman, hitting her with a chair, and cutting her hair with a knife, while some laugh in the background. All were taken for questioning and their detention was extended. The woman told ynet: 'Two days ago I received a phone call from a young woman asking me to come to settle a conflict. As soon as I arrived at the house, a group of eight or more young women grabbed me and started beating me severely, including punches, kicks, and blows with a chair. They insulted me and verbally abused me. They even asked a child to urinate on my head. After that, they cut part of my hair with a knife. They sat on me and forcibly pulled down my pants. I begged them to stop, but nothing helped.' She added that since the incident she has been unable to sleep due to shock: 'I was injured and received medical treatment. I am still in mental distress from the shock. I never expected to be attacked like this. Even after I filed a police complaint, I received threatening phone calls demanding I withdraw the complaint. I remain steadfast until I achieve full justice from all involved in this crime.' The police opened an investigation and stated: 'We view this case with seriousness and severity. We arrested those involved in the attack.' The attackers' detention was extended by one day.
