During the "Patriots" program on Channel 14, Dr. Eddie Cohen responded to former US President Donald Trump's announcement that an agreement had been reached for the complete disarmament of Hamas. Cohen expressed deep skepticism toward the announcement, calling the move a "trap" designed to obtain aid and reconstruction for the Gaza Strip without the terrorist organization actually disarming. Cohen emphasized that from his historical experience, "no terrorist organization disarms voluntarily. There is no such thing, no such animal, I have never seen it." He cited the only case of Ireland, but stressed that it is a completely different situation after centuries of fighting. In his view, the real test is on the ground, not in declarations. The panelist demanded to see tangible evidence of Hamas's disarmament. "We want to see trucks of weapons on the ground. I want to see Hamas men handing over weapons like the Kurds did in Syria," he said. He added, "We have already become disillusioned. They can't fool us," and stressed that Hamas is trying to use the alleged concession of power as a ploy to receive economic aid and reconstruction. Dr. Cohen reiterated that this is a "trap," and that Hamas wants the reconstruction of Gaza and economic aid. "We want to see it handing over weapons to an international body, in our eyes, we want to see it, and then we will start to believe," he declared. He expressed hope that former US President Donald Trump "has not fallen into" this trap.
