'Don't make me out to be a psychopath': recordings precede murder of lawyer Arbel Feldman

Recordings obtained by Walla reveal threats made by Ahmad Alargub, the suspect in the murder of lawyer Arbel Feldman, before the killing at his office in Rishon LeZion. Alargub, 23, from Ramla, was represented by Feldman in a tort claim, and the dispute centered on compensation of 10-15 thousand shekels. Yesterday, Alargub arrived at the office, shouts were heard, and at least four gunshots. Feldman was found lifeless. Alargub fled, turned himself in, and said 'I shot him.' His remand was extended by 12 days.

Recordings obtained today (Wednesday) by Walla reveal the series of threats that preceded the murder of lawyer Arbel Feldman at his office in Rishon LeZion. According to investigation materials, Feldman represented Ahmad Alargub, 23, from Ramla, in a tort claim. In the months leading up to the murder, Alargub repeatedly contacted him over the financial dispute, threatened and harassed him, but Feldman did not file a police complaint. In one of the calls, Alargub is heard telling Feldman: "I'm not joking, brother, I've been waiting for 3 years... What? I didn't understand what you said, what are you talking about? I've been on this damn case for 3 years, do you think I have nerves for this? You told me for sure in court that within 30 days the money would be in your bank." He also said: "Don't make me out to be a psychopath, on my mother's head. I have no cigarettes, in short, don't drive me crazy. I have no money, I have nothing. My situation, I don't have a shekel, not even one shekel." According to suspicion, the core of the dispute was a disagreement over compensation money of between 10 and 15 thousand shekels. Alargub claimed in his investigation that the money awarded to him was transferred to his father and not to him. In contrast, according to sources familiar with the details, Feldman said the funds were transferred to Alargub's father. According to suspicion, yesterday Alargub arrived at Feldman's office in Rishon LeZion. Minutes before the shooting, shouts were heard from inside the office, followed by at least four gunshots. Feldman's partners found him lying under his desk, covered in blood and unconscious. Medical teams had to determine his death at the scene. After the shooting, Alargub fled, and later turned himself in at a police station in the south of the country. Upon his arrest, he told investigators: "I shot him." Later, he chose to remain silent and repeatedly repeated the phrase: "I'm psychiatric." Today, the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court extended his remand by 12 days. The police attribute to him offenses of premeditated murder, destruction of evidence, and obstruction of justice. The weapon has not yet been located.
