"Do not use uniformed personnel for a campaign"

Reserve Colonel Oded Revivi, former head of the Efrat Council, has demanded that Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan remove a campaign video in which he appears in uniform. Revivi argued that the use of military uniforms harms the unity of the army. The video was removed from the party's Facebook page. The Central Elections Committee has previously ruled that using soldiers in uniform in propaganda may be considered prohibited.

Reserve Colonel Oded Revivi, former head of the Efrat Council and currently CEO of the Museum of the Jewish People, contacted yesterday (Wednesday) the chairman of the Democratic Party, Reserve Major General Yair Golan, demanding the removal of a campaign video in which he appears in uniform. Revivi discovered the use by chance, after the video had already been distributed. In a Facebook post, he wrote: "The uniform belongs to everyone - not to any party" and called on Golan to remove the clip from all platforms. The video was removed from the party's Facebook page. The incident occurs against the backdrop of a petition filed by the Yashar party to the chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud, alleging repeated use of IDF soldiers in uniform in propaganda. The Central Elections Committee has previously ruled that such use may be considered prohibited use of public property.
