District Court overturns decision: Yossi Mosli will remain in custody
The Tel Aviv District Court accepted the police appeal and overturned the Magistrate's Court decision: Yossi Mosli will remain in custody until August 20. Yesterday, the Magistrate's Court ordered his release, ruling that the investigation material does not reveal reasonable suspicion. The police appealed, and today a contrary decision was made. Mosli is suspected of involvement in an assault on a man outside his home in Savyon.
The Tel Aviv District Court today (Tuesday) accepted the appeal filed by the police and overturned the Magistrate's Court decision, which yesterday ordered the release of crime organization head Yossi Mosli. Mosli will remain in custody until Thursday, August 20. Less than a day was enough to reverse the picture in the case: yesterday, the Magistrate's Court judge ruled that the investigation material presented by the police does not reveal reasonable suspicion against Mosli, and ordered his release. The police did not accept the decision and filed an appeal. At the center of the investigation is an incident that occurred on Sunday outside Mosli's home in Savyon, in which a man who arrived with an electric bicycle and a Volt box was moderately injured. The police suspect Mosli was involved in the assault. Mosli claims he suspected the man was a drug addict, not a delivery courier. In yesterday's hearing, the judge remarked to the police representative: "You are telling me you are showing me something that cannot be seen." No blood traces were found on Mosli's clothing, and no relevant footage was found on security cameras. Mosli responded: "He lost consciousness, how does he claim he identified me?" Three people who were detained were released without conditions. According to the police, two of Mosli's men fled the scene. Now, the Tel Aviv YMR (Central Unit) has been given two additional days to continue the investigation.
