Disappearance of 23-Year-Old Eldar: Major Twist in Investigation

Police suspect that 23-year-old Eldar Dayan, missing since July 16, may be hiding after involvement in a serious hit-and-run in Petah Tikva. Two of his acquaintances have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and attempting to obstruct the investigation. The court extended their detention until August 2.

Police have put forward a new theory regarding the disappearance of 23-year-old Eldar Dayan from Dimona: he may be hiding from responsibility for involvement in a serious hit-and-run accident in Petah Tikva. Two of his acquaintances, Maxim Braverman and Omri Peretz, were detained on July 27 and remanded until August 2 by the Beersheba Magistrate's Court. They are suspected of criminal conspiracy and attempting to obstruct the investigation. According to police, on July 18, Braverman and Peretz were seen with Dayan in the Petah Tikva area—two days after his 'disappearance.' On the same day, an abandoned car with a shattered windshield and bloodstains was found there. Police are checking whether victims of the hit-and-run were hospitalized at that time. On July 28, abandoned clothing was found on the roadside in the same area and sent for forensic analysis, but its connection to the case has not yet been established. Dayan's family insists on a kidnapping theory: Eldar's mother, Shilat, said the last message from her son arrived on July 16, after which he stopped responding. Police continue the search and are asking the public for help.
