The pilot, 55-year-old Greek citizen Yorgos Raikos, managed to contact ground services before the accident, after which communication was lost. A surveillance camera captured the helicopter beginning to spin, then sharply losing altitude and crashing. Residents of nearby houses heard an unusual engine sound. The investment company Blackstone, where Alex Cromie worked, expressed condolences. The circumstances of the disaster are being investigated.
