UAE officials do not deny a Haaretz report that President Mohamed bin Zayed warned Prime Minister Netanyahu before October 7 of Sinwar's intention to harm Israel. The UAE Foreign Ministry stated that open communication lines have been maintained since the start of relations, and that relevant intelligence was transferred when needed. Netanyahu's office denied the report.

UAE officials do not deny a Haaretz report that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed issued a specific warning to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in late September 2023 regarding Yahya Sinwar's intention to harm Israel. The UAE Foreign Ministry responded that the government does not comment on media speculation, but added that UAE and Israeli government officials have maintained open and direct communication lines since the start of relations over five years ago. It further stated that "when needed, all relevant intelligence was and continues to be transferred between the relevant parties." According to the Haaretz report, bin Zayed urged Netanyahu to take the matter seriously, but to his surprise, the Prime Minister responded relatively calmly to the information and did not update security chiefs. The Prime Minister's Office responded: "An absolute lie! Prime Minister Netanyahu did not speak with the UAE President during the period in question and did not receive any warning from him."
