"Development": The occupation's narrative that hunger has ended is a falsification of reality

The Ministry of Social Development in Gaza describes the Israeli occupation's narrative that hunger in the sector has ended as a falsification of reality and a cover-up of the humanitarian catastrophe, and asserts that the presence of some food items in markets does not mean the end of hunger, and demands the entry of 600 aid trucks daily and a review of distribution mechanisms.

The Ministry of Social Development in the Gaza Strip issued a statement on Wednesday rejecting the Israeli occupation's narrative claiming that hunger in the sector has ended, describing it as a falsification of reality and a cover-up of the worsening humanitarian catastrophe. The ministry clarified that the presence of some food items in markets does not mean the end of hunger or the availability of sufficient, diverse, and regular food, and affirmed that the occupation bears responsibility for deepening the crisis due to imposed restrictions and failure to commit to bringing in 600 aid trucks daily. The ministry called on relief organizations, especially the World Food Programme, to review the quality and quantities of aid and distribution mechanisms to ensure it reaches those entitled to it according to actual needs. It stressed the need to consider the needs of children, women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and the most vulnerable groups when setting aid priorities. It also called on the media and the international community to rely on field data in assessing the humanitarian situation and to redouble efforts to ensure the entry of diverse aid. The statement comes amid the continued worsening of humanitarian needs and the affirmation by humanitarian bodies that the volume of aid remains below the level of actual needs of the population.
