Detention of suspect in stone-throwing at Channel 12 building extended by five days

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Wednesday extended by five days the detention of Avraham Hadi, suspected of throwing stones at the Channel 12 news building and leaving a threatening letter outside the premises. The court accepted the police's request to extend the detention for further investigation. According to the suspicion, Hadi threw stones at the building, and in one instance, the glass doors at the entrance were shattered. Additionally, he is suspected of leaving a threatening letter containing warnings against media figures and public officials. Police attribute to him offenses of extortion by threats, threats, obstruction of justice, intentional damage to property, and defacing real property. Furthermore, he is suspected of spraying a threatening graffiti message outside the offices of Channel 13. In a previous hearing, police reported that new investigation materials had been collected strengthening the suspicion against him. During his interrogation, Hadi exercised his right to remain silent. The investigation is being conducted by the Crime Fighting Unit of the Dan District in the Tel Aviv District, and due to the severity of the events, the General Security Service (Shin Bet) has also joined.
