Despite police demand: Court in controversial decision after murder in Caesarea

The decision was made contrary to the position of the police and prosecution, who demanded an autopsy as part of the murder investigation. During the hearing, findings from external tests and imaging already conducted at the Institute of Forensic Medicine were presented to the court. The court ordered the release of the body subject to the completion of additional tests that do not include an autopsy. Michael Gutwin, director of the legal department of ZAKA, who approached the court on behalf of the family, welcomed the decision and said that the truth can be investigated while preserving the dignity of the deceased.
