Deri and Gafni must unite with us; if not, there will be a catastrophe

Chairman of the "Haredi Public" faction, Moti Leitner, calls for the unification of his faction with Shas and United Torah Judaism, warning that the lack of representation for Haredim could harm the right-wing bloc in the elections.

In an interview with Channel 14, Moti Leitner, chairman of the "Haredi Public" faction, called on Shas chairman Aryeh Deri and United Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni to open the gates of the Haredi parties and integrate his faction. According to him, the Haredi population has more than doubled in the last twenty years, but political representation has hardly changed. A significant portion of Haredi voters have moved to parties like Otzma Yehudit, Religious Zionism, and Likud, while others do not intend to vote at all due to a sense of despair. Leitner warned that failure to unite forces could cause a catastrophe for the right-wing bloc. He also addressed the enlistment of Haredim and called for expanding tracks tailored to the Haredi public. The faction does not seek to establish a new party at this stage but will consider it if unification fails.
