Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva Joins Noam Party

Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva, Rabbi Shimon Tovol, announced his joining the Noam party led by MK Avi Maoz. Tovol, a city council member since 2013, serves as deputy mayor and holds the environmental portfolio. Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva, Rabbi Shimon Tovol, announced his joining the Noam party led by MK Avi Maoz. Tovol, a city council member since 2013, currently serves as deputy mayor and holds the environmental portfolio. He heads a faction of three members. Tovol is married and father of four, holds a BA in Education and an MA in Educational Systems Management. For about 15 years he served as CEO of "Beit Yosef" institutions, led youth advancement projects, was among the founders of "United Hatzalah" in Be'er Sheva, initiated the central Selichot event at Turner Stadium, and runs a charity distributing food baskets to hundreds of families weekly. He serves as a reserve combat soldier in the Givati Brigade, accumulated hundreds of reserve days during the "Swords of Iron" war, and received a brigade excellence award. Tovol also serves as a panelist on Channel 14. In his announcement, he said he joins Noam out of belief that it is time to save the right-wing government and the world of Torah. Party chairman MK Avi Maoz welcomed the joining, saying Tovol brings added strength and strengthens Jewish identity. In the background is the publication of an intention to file an indictment against Tovol regarding an incident during reserve service. The Noam party stated that the civilian prosecution's decision to take the case raises questions, and they support Tovol.
