The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine warned in a statement on Saturday of the danger of the growing manifestations of chaos and inter-family strife and resorting to weapons to resolve disputes in the Gaza Strip. The Front affirmed that these practices threaten civil peace, tear the social fabric, and undermine national unity. It stressed that protecting civil peace is a collective responsibility, and that any slide towards internal fighting serves the Israeli occupation, which seeks to dismantle Palestinian society. It called on national forces, community and family figures, mukhtars, and notables to assume their responsibilities to stop the lawlessness and entrench a culture of dialogue and tolerance.
