An indictment was filed against Shimon Weisfeld, 53, from Motzkin, for assaulting his 80-year-old mother, Polina, and threatening to murder her. He was arrested and remanded until the end of proceedings. At the start of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, Weisfeld was found dead in his cell at Tzalmon Prison. A serious indictment was filed last Friday against Shimon Weisfeld, 53, from Motzkin, for repeatedly assaulting his 80-year-old mother, Polina, while explicitly threatening to murder her: "I will kill you." Weisfeld, who lived with his mother, beat her to the point of actual injuries. He was arrested last Sunday by Zvulun station police officers. The Haifa Magistrate's Court, in a decision by Judge Eloaz Zaaroura, ordered his detention until the end of proceedings, while also ordering him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. At the start of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, Weisfeld was found dead in his cell at Tzalmon Prison.
