Debt, drugs, guns and a sack over the head - the kidnapping incident in the Negev

Three brothers kidnapped a man in the Negev over an alleged family debt of 135,000 shekels, covered his face with a sack, threatened him with a weapon, and shot at his legs. The kidnappers demanded a ransom from his family. A Yamam force rescued the abductee without the money being paid. The police arrested the suspects and an indictment was filed against them.

Three brothers from the Janabib tribe encampment in the Negev kidnapped a man they claimed owed their family 135,000 shekels. According to the indictment, the kidnappers covered the victim's face with a dark sack, led him to a tent where their father, Mas'ad Eshtiyawi, brutally beat and threatened him. The father also fired several bullets at the abductee's legs. The victim was then moved to a structure in the encampment, and the kidnappers called his family demanding a ransom while threatening his life. In one call, they told his sister: "Your brother is our guest. He eats and drinks. If you involve the police, your brother will die." They told his mother that if she didn't pay, she would get her son from "Abu Kabir" (the hospital). A Yamam force from the Negev district rescued the abductee without the ransom being paid. He was questioned at the towns police station. Two days after the release, police arrested the three brothers, the father, and additional accomplices. Investigators collected evidence, including bodily fluid stains from the vehicle, security camera footage, and items left in the car. The investigation material was transferred to the Southern District Attorney's Office, which filed an indictment against the three brothers.
