Deadly Saturday at the beaches: three men drown, death of 61-year-old determined near Neve Yam
A 61-year-old man from Haifa drowned to death today near Neve Yam beach in the Atlit area. Meanwhile, two other men, aged 71 and 65, drowned at the beaches of Netanya and Herzliya and were evacuated in critical condition to hospitals. This is the fifth drowning incident at Carmel beach within a week, including three fatal drownings.
A 61-year-old man, a resident of Haifa, drowned to death today (Saturday) near Neve Yam beach in the Atlit area. MDA teams provided him with medical treatment at the scene and transferred him to Rambam Hospital in Haifa in critical condition, where his death was determined. Meanwhile, reports were received of two additional drowning incidents: a 65-year-old man was pulled unconscious near the beach in Herzliya and evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in critical condition, and a 71-year-old man was evacuated to Laniado Hospital in Netanya in critical condition, while resuscitation efforts were underway. MDA paramedics described the resuscitation procedures performed. This is the fifth drowning incident at Carmel beach within one week, including three fatal drownings: on Sunday a 44-year-old woman was pulled out alive, on Monday a 76-year-old woman's death was determined, on Tuesday musician Israel Kozhuchi drowned to death, and on Thursday a man about 60 years old was pulled out in serious condition.
