The ministry urges the public to refrain from purchasing and consuming the product, reminding of the risks: blood pressure spikes, tachycardia, insomnia, anxiety, and even heart attack and stroke. It is recommended to buy medicines only from licensed pharmacies.

Israel's Health Ministry issued an urgent warning about the weight loss product 'Magic Honey' (in Hebrew: דבש הקסם / דבש להרזיה), which is popular online. During routine inspections, the product was found to contain sibutramine, a banned pharmaceutical substance not registered in Israel and most countries due to severe side effects. The ministry urges citizens to categorically refrain from purchasing and consuming this product. Uncontrolled use of sibutramine can lead to blood pressure spikes, rapid heartbeat, chronic insomnia, severe anxiety, and nervous disorders. In advanced cases, myocardial infarction, stroke, or a direct threat to life may occur. Israel has already recorded cases of hospitalization of patients harmed by counterfeit products containing this component. The ministry recommends buying medicines, dietary supplements, and health products only from licensed pharmacies and specialized chains, avoiding dubious websites, social media, and messaging apps. If the sale of dangerous honey is discovered or if one feels unwell, contact the 'Kol HaBriut' information center at *5400.
