Two snake bites were reported in Israel in one day amid the abnormal heatwave. A 48-year-old woman was bitten while working outdoors at the Volcani Institute in Rishon LeZion. MDA paramedics provided first aid and transported her to Shamir – Assaf Harofeh Hospital in serious but stable condition with bites to her lower limbs. On the same day, a 26-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum was bitten near her home and hospitalized at the Galilee Medical Center in mild condition. Dr. Khaled Atalla, director of the emergency medicine department, emphasized that venomous reptiles become more active during the hot season and recommended calming the victim, immobilizing the affected limb, and immediately transporting them to the hospital. He also advised photographing the snake for identification but prohibited cutting the wound, sucking out venom, or applying a tourniquet.
