Tens of thousands of people gathered tonight (Thursday, August 20) at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem and took part in the second Selichot event of this year. Sound systems and giant screens were set up in the Western Wall plaza to allow all attendees to participate. The event was accompanied by a cantor and choir. The first Selichot event, held last Saturday night (August 15), was attended by tens of thousands of men and women. In total, 19 Selichot events will be held at the Western Wall throughout the month of Elul and the Ten Days of Repentance, which will be broadcast via the website and social networks, allowing thousands more to join remotely.
