Court accepts Histadrut's position: order delaying dismissal of Ma'ar union chair canceled

The Tel Aviv Regional Labor Court accepted the Histadrut's position, dismissed the petition filed by Ma'ar union chair Alexandra Krushinsky, and canceled the order that delayed the entry into effect of the decision to dismiss her. The Histadrut appointed Alon Sharf as chairman of a committee to manage the Ma'ar union. Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David said, "Together we will build the Ma'ar of tomorrow."

The Tel Aviv Regional Labor Court today (Sunday) accepted the Histadrut's position, dismissed the petition filed by Ma'ar union chair Alexandra Krushinsky, and canceled the temporary injunction that delayed the entry into effect of the decision by the Histadrut's elected assembly to end her term. The court ruled that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Histadrut's judicial authority. About two weeks ago, the Histadrut's coordination and implementation committee recommended, by a majority of 22 supporters and no opponents, to end Krushinsky's term. On August 2, the Histadrut's elected assembly approved the decision by a majority vote. Krushinsky petitioned the court, which issued a temporary order that was stayed until the hearing. Following the cancellation of the order, the Histadrut appointed Alon Sharf as chairman of a committee to manage the Ma'ar union. Sharf, who has managerial experience in the public service, has served since 2019 as the head of the human resources department at the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality, responsible for about 12,000 employees. The Histadrut was represented by lawyers Sigal Pa'il and Zohar Gips, while Krushinsky was represented by lawyers Ilan Bombach and Shirin Mordian. Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David said: "Our faces are forward... Together we will build the Ma'ar of tomorrow."
